15 December 2016 – Representatives of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore led by Ambassador Antonio A. Morales recently attended the 7th Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) Day and 14th FDW and Employer of the Year Awards organized by the Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (also known as FAST). Mr. Sam Tan, Minister of State of the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Manpower (MOM) was the Guest of Honor of the event.
In his keynote address, Minister Tan recognized the FDWs’ invaluable contribution to the 200,000 families they are supporting in Singapore. He also shared with the group the various initiatives of the Singapore government and its accomplishments in improving the plight of FDWs.
During a chat with Minister Tan, Ambassador Morales had an opportunity to brief the Minister on the upcoming visit of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Ambassador Morales thanked the officials of FAST for their continuing engagement with the Philippine Embassy and for the assistance they provide to Filipino FDWs. END
