15 December 2016 — Directed and produced by award-winning Filipino-American director Sonny “Noel” Izon, the film “An Open Door: Holocaust Haven in the Philippines,” was included in the recently concluded International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Milan 2016 from November 26 to December 03.
The film, which was screened on December 02, received three nominations including Best Film.
The film narrates a dramatic story of rescue and friendship and how the Philippines was able to provide a sanctuary to more than 1,300 Jews fleeing Nazi Europe prior to 1941.
The same film was earlier shown at the Cinemalaya in Manila in August 2016 and at the Berlin International Filmmaker Festival on October 27. END
