19 December 2016 — The Philippine Consulate General, in cooperation with the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and the Hong Kong Musician’s Union, held the annual “Concert in the Park” at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza last December 04. This year marked the 32nd year that the Concert has been staged.
A total of ten bands/groups composed of Filipino musicians based in Hong Kong, as well as Hong Kong musicians and band members from Australia, Brazil, China, Cuba France, Sri Lanka and the US, performed for the audience.
Hong Kong-based Filipino radio personalities Michael Vincent and Jun Paragas aka “Tita Kerry” served as emcees for the event.
The Concert in the Park is a major annual activity of the Philippine Consulate General under the auspices of Philippines-Hong Kong Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cultural Cooperation signed on February 14, 2003. The MOU aims to foster cultural exchanges especially through arts, culture and education.
