01 December 2016 — An overseas Filipino from Surigao del Sur is the first overseas voter to register on December 01 at the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney for the 2019 National Elections.

Nanette D. Ga of Cortest, Surigao del Sur is a permanent resident in Australia.  She lives with her husband and their newborn child, Akash.

According to Ga, now that she is residing in Australia, she has become keener in exercising her right to vote as a Filipino. She said that she wants to make sure that she will be able to vote in the next Philippine national elections.

Ga is the first person to respond to the call of the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney for eligible Filipinos in New South Wales to register and participate in the May 2019 Philippine National Elections. END
