06 December 2016 – Filipina Jocelyn Soriano of Giza was the first new registrant in Egypt for the 2019 Philippine National Elections upon the resumption of the overseas voter registration at the Philippine Embassy in Cairo on December 01.

The Embassy, through its website and Facebook page, reminded all Filipinos under its jurisdiction that the registration and certification of qualified Filipino voters will run from December 01, 2016 to September 30, 2018.

The Embassy urges all Filipinos to register for the 2019 National Elections so they can exercise their right to vote. Filipinos who come to the Embassy to avail of consular services are also encouraged to register. Mobile registration will be scheduled for Filipinos living outside Cairo as well as those in Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Sudan. END
