07 December 2016 – The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam opened the first day for the resumption of Overseas Voter (OV) registration on December 01 for the 2019 Philippine National Elections for Senators and Party-List Representatives.
A total of eight (8) applicants registered on the first day of the registration period.
The OV registration period will run from December 01, 2016 to September 30, 2018.
To register, all applicants must personally appear at the Philippine Consulate General, Suite 601, 6th Floor, ITC Building, 590 Marine Corps Drive, Tamuning 96913, Guam for biometrics capturing with the following requirements: 1) Photocopy of valid passport or if dual citizen, 2) copy of oath of allegiance or proof of Philippine Citizenship from the Bureau of Immigration; or for seamen, 3) copy of seaman's book. OV registration at the Consulate General is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, except holidays.
Following the deactivation of the registration records of some 3,869 voters in Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and the Republic of Marshall Islands (RMI), for failure to vote in the 2013 and 2016 elections, the PHL Consulate General is encouraging all Filipinos under its jurisdiction to check if their names are still in the list of overseas voters at Comelec website (www.comelec.gov.ph) and if not, to register again.
The Consulate General will also schedule the conduct of field registration activities in the CNMI, Palau, FSM and RMI during the course of the registration period. Filipinos in the abovementioned locations are encouraged to keep abreast of the schedule and to register. END
