20 December 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Muscat donated a set of CCP Encyclopaedia of Philippine Art to the Sultan Qaboos University Main Library in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Mona bint Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation, received the books, which were formally turned over to the University by Second Secretary and Consul Bernadette A. Mendoza, who represented the Embassy.

With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Philippines and Oman earlier this year, the Embassy undertook the donation of books to the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) to promote greater appreciation of Philippine culture at Oman’s only public university. 

The ten-volume set, published by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, is considered to be the definitive reference material on Philippine art and culture.  END
