21 December 2016 — The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong SAR and Filipino exhibitors promoted the Philippines as investment, business, and tourism destination in three exhibitions, namely, The World SME Expo, Hong International Franchising Show 2016 and Business IP Forum Asia, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from December 01 to 03 at the Hong Kong Convention Center.
The Philippine Consulate set up a booth at The World SME Expo to promote the country’s information technology, and business process and outsourcing (BPO) sector. The World SME Expo is a one-stop platform for market opportunities featuring a full spectrum of SME support services to enhance small and medium-sized enterprises’ competitiveness in the world market.
The Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) also participated in the Hong Kong International Franchising Show. On its second year, the franchising event provided a one-stop platform for companies and entrepreneurs looking for franchising brands, business partners and top franchising tips.
The show offered numerous franchising opportunities in different sectors with “Catering”, “Non-Catering” and “International” zones to help companies match with partners and expand their business.
PFA promoted franchises on food such as Jollibee, Shakey’s, Max’s Restaurant, Potato Corner); retail such as Karimadon and Plains & Prints; and services such as Bioessence and Mr. Quickie.
PFA President, Dr. Alan Escalona, was a panel speaker at the Round Table Meeting at the sidelines of the Show and provided updates on the latest market trends and regulations in the Philippines.
The Business of IP Forum Asia 2016 was participated in by a 36-member delegation from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). Part of IPOPHL's objectives at the Business of IP Asia Forum was to build international awareness about the agency, its programs and services, and the IP developments in the country. END
