BERLINVOTE

03 January 2017 – The Philippine Embassy in Berlin had just registered its 100th overseas voter at the Philippine Embassy in Berlin.

Janissa Ubagan, who comes from Initao, Misamis Oriental, registered together with her mother Virgie Kuch on December 28, 2016. The registration period for new voters started on December 01, 2016 and will continue until October 31, 2018.

The Embassy is encouraging all Filipino citizens, who will be 18 years or older by May 13, 2019 and who have not yet registered for voting abroad to register. Filipinos who have registered as voters in the Philippines and are now residing in Germany are also encouraged to come to the Embassy so they can be certified as overseas voters. This will allow them to cast their vote for the 2019 National Senatorial/Party-List Elections.

Philippine Ambassador to Germany Melita Sta. Maria-Thomeczek encouraged all Filipino organizations in Germany to spread the news about the ongoing voter registration campaign to ensure that there will be a high Filipino voter turnout in Germany.

“We aspire to register close to 4,000 Filipino voters during this 22-month registration period,” Ambassador Thomeczek said.
