03 January 2017 — The Philippine Embassy in Singapore commemorated Rizal Day 2016 with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Philippine Chancery.

Minister and Consul General Victorio Mario M. Dimagiba and the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col. Aderito Navata led the wreath laying at the newly-installed bronze bust of Dr. Jose Rizal.

The bust will be a part of the Sentro Rizal Singapore.  Singapore’s Sentro Rizal will be launched at the Embassy in the middle of 2017.

Minister and Consul General Victorio Mario M. Dimagiba, Jr. delivered a brief message during the program.

First Secretary and Consul J. Anthony Reyes, an active member of the Order of the Knights of Rizal, paid tribute to the national hero by reading one of Rizal’s works, “A La Juventud Filipina.” END
