06 January 2017 — Officials of the Philippine Embassy in Santiago, Chile, led by Chargé d’Affaires Marcos Punsalang, commemorated the 120th Death Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal with a wreath laying on the hero’s bust and the singing of the Philippine national anthem at Plaza Filipinas in Las Condes, Santiago, Chile.
In his Rizal Day address, Mr. Punsalang urged Embassy officials to constantly revisit Rizal’s life and works and draw inspiration from his steadfast love and loyalty to country and the Filipino people.
The bust is located at Plaza Filipinas, a park in Las Condes, Santiago, which was inaugurated in May 18, 1989. In June 2016, Embassy and Municipality of Las Condes officials jointly inaugurated a plaque that details Rizal’s life and achievements. END
