13 January 2017 – The Philippine Consulate General celebrated the 18th Santo Niño Guam 2000 Fiesta together with the Filipino community in Guam on January 08.
The Santo Niño-Guam 2000 spearheaded the event. The organization is chaired by Mr. Tim Oftana in cooperation with the Aklan Association, Cebu Association, Capizeños of Guam, Iloilo International and the Western Visayas College of Science & Technology (WVCST) Alumni Association.
A high mass was celebrated at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica in Hagatna presided by Most Rev. Dennis C. Villarojo, D.D., Ph.D., Auxillary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Cebu.
A colorful procession around Skinner Plaza followed after the mass. Hundreds of Santo Niño devotees with images of the Santo Niño joined the procession.
Consul General Marciano R. de Borja highlighted the significance of the Santo Niño in the history of Christianity in the Philippines when he delivered his remarks during the fellowship dinner. END
