16 January 2017 — Consul Marford M. Angeles together with Councilors Karen Hunt and Rey Manoto of the Campbelltown City Council, led the commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal at a wreath laying ceremony held at the Rizal Park in Campbelltown City, New South Wales, Australia on December 30, 2016.
In his speech, Consul Angeles encouraged the members of the Filipino community to emulate Rizal by working for the welfare and unity of the Filipino community in Australia.
Flowers and wreaths were also laid at the bust of Dr. Rizal at the Ibero-American Plaza in Sydney and at the statue of Dr. Rizal at Ashfield Park in Ashfield City, New South Wales, on the same day. END
