31 October 2013 – Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ezzedin H. Tago met with Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Chairman Dr. Abdulrahman A. Al-Zamil, and Secretary General Mohammed H. Al Kathiri on October 29 at the RCCI.
Ambassador Tago and Dr. Al-Zamil discussed ways to increase and enhance the interaction between the Philippines and Saudi Arabia’s private sectors towards practical and non-traditional cooperation that would boost both economies’ development.
Ambassador Tago briefed Dr. Al-Zamil on the significant progress the Philippines has achieved this year, particularly in economic growth. He also cited the recent investment grade ratings given to the country by Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch’s. The Ambassador took the opportunity to invite the RCCI Chairman to visit the country and also sought his assistance in promoting the Philippines as an investment destination for the Saudi private sector.
Dr. Al-Zamil expressed interest in leading a business delegation to the Philippines and also inquired about investing in Mindanao.
Both discussed the ongoing amnesty and the new regulations by Saudi Arabia that would benefit the expatriate workers in the Kingdom.
They promised to support each other in working for practical and actual cooperation between Philippine and Saudi businesses for the benefit of Filipino and Saudi nationals. END
