13 February 2017 — Eight Philippine-curriculum Schools in Riyadh participated in the British International School, Riyadh International Week at the school campus from February 05 to 09.
Five Philippine International Schools performed different Philippine dances during the Open Day held on February 09.
Before the international week, selected students from the Philippine-curriculum Schools also participated in a Students Conference with the theme, “How Can We Promote Peace Through Internationalism?”.
The conference focused on the students’ awareness on the effect of the conflicts happening globally, especially to the refugees from the different countries in the Middle East.
The students prepared a video on the subject and participated in the different discussion groups together with other international schools in Riyadh.
The British International School in Riyadh holds this yearly activity to bring their students closer to other students from other countries. It also enables them to understand and respect the different cultures and beliefs of the students by celebrating internationalism.
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh displayed a wide array of materials representing Filipino games such as sungka, trumpo and tirador in the booth that it was given. END
