27 February 2017 BRASILIA – Philippine Ambassador to Brasilia Jose D.R. Burgos presented his credentials to President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon of the Republic of Colombia as Non-Resident Philippine Ambassador to Colombia at Casa de Nariño on February 16.

Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar assisted the President during the Presentation of Credentials.

President Santos, the latest Nobel Peace Prize awardee, complimented Ambassador Burgos on his Barong Tagalog as the President recalled wearing the Filipino national attire as a special Guest of then President Benigno S. Aquino III during the 2015 APEC Summit in the Philippines.

A total of 28 Ambassadors from Africa, Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania presented their credentials to President Santos.

Ambassador Burgos also met with Vice Minister of Interior Guillermo Rivera Florez to discuss about the status of the peace agreement between the Colombian Government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels. END
