27 February 2017 ABU DHABI – Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., attended the launch of the World Green Economy Organization’s (WGEO) Private Sector Platform at the DIFC Conference Center, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on February 11.

Third Secretary and Vice Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil and Attaché Meradel April E. Reyes joined him.

The WGEO, supported by the UAE government in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was established to provide consultations and technical, financial and moral support in the field of green economy through its seven (7) platforms, namely, 1) countries, 2) sustainable cities sector, 3) academic sector, 4) youth sector, 5) financial sector, 6) organizations and civil society, and the 7) private sector. It aims to be the primary reference to pioneer new approaches in promoting green economy.

The Private Sector Platform initiative recognizes the crucial role of the private sector in establishing a strong and diversified green economy for sustainable development.

The Private Sector Platform’s objective is to establish public and private partnerships, and enable dialogue and knowledge exchange to accelerate the transition to a green economy; including the facilitation of technical assistance, green technologies, products and services around the world.

The launch, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, was attended by H.E. Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy; H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of WGEO; H.E. Helen Clark, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); and several VIPs, dignitaries, experts, energy specialists and esteemed guests. END
