01 March 2017 Honolulu — Acting Head of Post Roberto T. Bernardo led the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu in the official launch of National Women’s Month on February 27.
Consul Joyleen E. Santos and Vice Consul Andrea Christina Q. Caymo discussed the significance of National Women’s Month and bared the activities for the month-long celebration.
The celebration of National Women’s Month is pursuant to Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988 which provides for its annual conduct every March to recognize the contributions of Filipino women in society.
The theme for this year’s National Women’s Month, “We Make Change Work for Women”, reflect the Duterte’s administration’s goal of protection of women’s rights and full implementation of the Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act 9710). END
