25 October 2013 – Miss World 2013 Megan Young, the first Filipina ever to win the title, paid a courtesy call on Consul General Mario De Leon, Jr last October 23 at the Philippine Consulate General in New York.  Accompanied by Miss World official Steve Douglas, Ms Young discussed with Consul General De Leon her duties after the pageant, the charitable projects of Miss World and how the Filipino-American community can support her during her reign.

Ms Young was born in Alexandria, Virginia of a Filipina mother and American father.  She moved to the Philippines when she was a child, where she went to school and pursued a career in show business. END (Photo by Jake Tolentino. END
