Cobonpue designs to be showcased at major Turkish industrial design showroom

08 March 2017 ISTANBUL — Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez discussed the Philippines’ renewed vigor to boost infrastructure development, particularly on the rehabilitation of major airports and seaports during a meeting with the President of the Turkey-Philippine Business Council and Chairman of Hitay Investment Holdings Mr. Emin Hitay, and Hitay Investment Holdings Director of Business Development Mr. Caner Yilmaz on February 27.

Ambassador Sanchez highlighted the Philippines’ robust economic growth and domestic consumption.  She expressed hope that the major Turkish company can participate in these developments and support the inaugural meeting of the Philippine-Turkey Joint Economic Council (JEC) in the latter part of 2017.

Mr. Hitay expressed his support for both political and economic developments in the Philippines.  He hopes to organize a mission of Turkish businessmen to visit Manila to explore possible business opportunities and linkages.

On the same day, the Philippine Embassy in Ankara also met with Hazar Group CEO Mr. German Ghanbari at the company’s showroom in Maçka Armani Residences in Istanbul. 

The Hazar Group is a 30-year-old Turkish industrial design company focused on furniture, lighting, and home accessories.  The company has expanded its business in Tehran, Iran.

The Hazar Group carries the furniture line of internationally-acclaimed Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue.  Mr. Ghanbari encountered Cobonpue’s designs during one of the Manila FAME shows.  Cobonpue’s designs will be showcased at the Ghanbari showroom this month.

Also present during the meeting were Mr. Raşit Tibet, General Manager of TASARIM Medıa+PR and Mr. ZekiYücel, General Manager of BYTIBET Media+PR+Expo. Mr. Tibet is also Manila FAME's marketing agent in Istanbul. TASARIM Media has been publishing TASARIM Magazine, a monthly publication featuring furniture and furnishings in Turkey. END
