25 October  2013 – The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria, led by Ambassador Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., hosted a Family day for the Filipino Community in South Africa on 29 September at the Philippine Embassy Grounds.

A Karaoke Singing Contest was held during the event. The first placer was Ms. Esther Espiritu of Boksburg, followed by Ms. Gina Castanar of Germiston and Ms. Miriam Wacal of the Philippine Embassy.

The Philippine Ladies Circle headed by the Ambassador’s wife, Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno presented a donation to Thabang Foundation through Mrs. Ces Cunningham.  The Philippine Ladies Circle was able to collect the amount of R2000 (US$200) on the day of the event.

After the Karaoke Singing Contest, the Filipino community displayed their talents in   singing and dancing.

Filipino food such as pork adobo, chicken afritada and ginataang bilo-bilo were served to the guests. END
