10 March 2017 MODENA — A total of 368 services were processed during the first mobile consular service conducted by the Philippine Consulate General in Milan at  Instituto Filippo Neri, Modena from March 03 to 04.

Around 71% of the total number of services rendered were new passport applications or renewals. 

There are around 5,000 Filipinos in Modena, one of the largest concentrations of Filipinos in Northern Italy.

Consul General March Mauro led the consular mission. She also led the oath taking of the new set of officers of the Federation of Filipino Community of Modena and encouraged them to continue to support and assist Filipinos in the area.

Modena is in the Emilia Romagna Region of Northern Italy. It is known for its automotive industry with famous Italian sports car makers Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati whose factories and headquarters are located in town. The city is home to several factories of Italian food producing various foodstuffs internationally. These factories employ hundreds of Filipinos from Modena. END
