10 March 2017 ROME – Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco said that change can only be achieved through the joint efforts of both men and women in promoting an environment where all genders are empowered.  He emphasised this point as he explained the theme of National Women’s Month, “We Make Change Work for Women,” during a short program at the chancery on March 08.

The Ambassador also conveyed President Rodrigo Duterte’s commitment to protect women’s rights and to fully implement the Magna Carta of Women.

During the celebration, the Embassy launched “Serbisyo Para Kay Juana” to honor all migrant women in Italy. The services included a special lane for women who are availing of consular service, distribution of brochures on Magna Carta of Women and the distribution of hand-made commemorative bracelets.

The Philippine Embassy in Rome has lined up several activities in celebration of the women’s month in March including a Forum on Magna Carta of Women on March 16 at the Embassy’s multi-purpose hall. END
