10 March 2017 JEDDAH – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah organized a two-week group exhibit featuring 34 paintings by young Filipino artists aged seven to 15 years old.  The activity was conducted in celebration of National Arts Month.

The artists hail from AB Punzalan’s Art Class and were trained under the tutelage of Ar. Arnel Punzalan.  The artists represent various Philippine curriculum schools in Jeddah such as the Al Dura Gems International School, Bader International School, Durat Al Sharq International School, and the International Philippine School in Jeddah.

Philippine Consul General to Jeddah Imelda M. Panolong led the officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah during the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The paintings featured during the exhibit draw inspiration from the masterpieces of Philippine National Artist for Visual Arts, Fernando Amorsolo y Cueto.  Amorsolo is one of the most important Philippine visual artists and is touted as the “Grand Old Man of Philippine Art.” END
