14 March 2017, Brussels – A Filipino-led NGO showcased a cornucopia of organic Philippine products at the 34th Festival of Migrations, Cultures and Citizenship in Luxembourg on March 03 to 05.
The festival drew thousands of visitors and hosted more than 400 booths, debates, animations and shows from the different migrant cultures in Luxembourg.
Luxembourg-based NGO Pilipinas Poverty Peace Education (PPPE) displayed organic products from the Philippines like red rice, brown rice, muscovado sugar, tablea, saba and avocado.
PPPE has been a regular participant in the said festival.
Event organizer Comité de liaison des associations d’étrangers (Liaison Committee for Association of Foreigners) was created in 1985 to campaign for the recognition and promotion of foreign cultures in Luxembourg.
This year’s edition highlighted the campaign to register foreigners for Luxembourg’s communal elections in October 2017 and to tackle the refugee issue.
Luxembourg’s Grand Duke Henri Albert Gabriel Félix Marie Guillaume, Grand Duchess María Teresa Mestre y Batista, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn graced the festival’s opening. END
