PH and UK keen on broadening inter-parliamentary ties

London Parliament 1

14 March 2017 LONDON – Philippine Ambassador to the UK Antonio M. Lagdameo made his introductory call on Sir David Amess, MP on March 13. Sir David is the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Philippines (APPG-PH) in the British Parliament.

During the meeting, Sir David recalled the “wonderful” visit he and other members of the APPG-PH made to the Philippines, under the auspices of the British Group Inter-parliamentary Union (BGIPU).

Ambassador Lagdameo and Sir David were keen to further broaden inter-parliamentary relations between the Philippines and the United Kingdom this year through a number of activities in Parliament to be organized by the APPG-PH, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy.

The APPG-PH was established in 2007 and Sir David has been Chair of the group since 2014. The APPG-PH is a partner of the Philippine Embassy in London to help raise awareness of Philippine interests among British parliamentarians. END
