23 March 2017 NEW YORK – Nine Filipino-American entrepreneurs were honored at the 2017 Entrepreneurs of the Year Awards Gala held in conjunction with the 10th year anniversary of the Jersey City Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce in Weehawken, New Jersey on March 19.
The nine awardees are Dr. Rebecca River of Bridgeway Senior Care, Ms. Grace Labaguis of Essential Consulting Services for events and promotions, Dr. Elizabeth Bulosan of Hudson Rehab Spa, Mr. Henry Racelis of Racelis Realty, Mr. Roger Gupta of Diamond Hut Jewelers, Mr. Glenn Castillo of Castillo Financial Group, Mr. Fernando Mendez of Fiesta in America, Mr. Romulo Luz of RML Construction LLC, and Mr. Paul Dantes of Tri-State Medical Marketing Inc.
The awardees are involved in various commercial concerns ranging from medical and wellness services, events planning and promotions, jewelry, real estate, financial services, and construction.
Chamber Vice President Atty. Victor Sison said that the honorees were selected in view of their determination and perseverance to establish and sustain their respective business enterprises and for elevating the presence of Filipinos and Filipino-American entrepreneurs in Jersey City, one of the most multi-ethnic enclaves in the state of New Jersey.
Philippine Consul General to New York Theresa Dizon-De Vega said that the Chamber and the honorees have done the Filipino-American Community a great service by highlighting the achievement of Fil-Am entrepreneurs.
She added that the Consulate General supports the Chamber’s efforts to continue mentoring emerging Filipino-American entrepreneurs in order to showcase the investments and contributions made by the Filipino-American community in mainstream US society.
The Jersey City Fil-Am Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization that serves as the voice of the Filipino-American business owners in Jersey City on matters of commerce, industry, and development. END
