07 November 2013 - Founder and Managing Director of the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development - Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD-MRI) Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip visited the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane, Laos and met with Third Secretary and Vice Consul Analyn Ratonel on October 23.
Dr. Alip gave a quick orientation on the financial and non-financial services of CARD in the Philippines and its plan to expand its services to other ASEAN countries.
CARD-MRI just recently acquired its license to operate as international non-government organization (NGO) in Laos. The group implements cooperation projects in Laos with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL) and other Lao financial institutions.
CARD-MRI is a microfinance and community-based social development institution which aspires to improve the quality of life of socially and economically challenged women and families towards nation building.
