Jakarta ASEAN ACCC Meeeting

29 March 2017 SOLO, INDONESIA — Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso chaired the meeting of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) in Solo, Indonesia on March 21.

The ACCC, which is also composed of the members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, discussed the plans and initiatives related to the implementation of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025. 

ASEAN Leaders, at their Summit meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR onSeptember 06, 2016, adopted MPAC 2025, an essential component of ASEAN’s community building and integration efforts. It focuses on five strategic areas: sustainable infrastructure, digital innovation, seamless logistics, regulatory excellence and people mobility.

The ACCC also met with some lead implementing body representatives on 22 March 2017 to review progress, identify issues, and propose steps forward in the implementation of MPAC 2025’s specific initiatives and measures.

The ACCC has been mandated to engage with National Focal Points, National Coordinators, Implementing Bodies, the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Dialogue Partners, international organizations, private sector, media and academia to provide perspectives on planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of MPAC 2025.
