Chongqing education promotion

08 November 2013 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, China promoted the Philippines as a destination for tertiary education in the recently concluded 9th Yunnan International Education Fair (Autumn) held at the Yunnan Education Department in Yunnan Province which ran from October 26 to 27. Local and foreign universities, education consultancies and other companies offering education-related services participated in the event, which attracted visitors from all over Yunnan Province, particularly parents weighing their options on sending their children overseas.

The Consulate sought to attract students from Yunnan Province by highlighting the advantages of studying in the Philippines: quality education, affordability, a good social environment, proximity to China, and travel and tourism opportunities.

The Consulate’s booth gave out brochures containing information about course offerings, admission requirements, visa issuance, and other details about living and studying in the Philippines. Brochures from the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) and brochures from Philippine universities were also handed out.

During the exhibition, Vice Consul Duke Villanueva gave a short talk on the advantages of studying in the Philippines.

Aprat from marketing the Philippines as a destination for education, the Consulate also promoted major Philippine tourist destinations as part of its overall strategy to attract foreign visitors to the country. END
