PHL Embassy in Mexico Participate in Semanas Interculturales 2017

30 March 2017 MEXICO — The Philippine Embassy in Mexico took part in the first Semanas Interculturales 2017, a cultural festival organized by the Institute of Culture and Park Naucalli from March 24 to 26 at the Parque Naucalli in Naucalpan.

The festival aims to enrich the knowledge of the people of Naucalpan about the culture and traditions of participating countries and to promote inter-cultural exchanges and closer relations between its residents and the invited countries.

Aside from the Arnis workshop conducted by Vice Consul Mikhal de Dios and the presentation of Philippine cultural dances, the Philippine booth exhibited the Philippines’ barong tagalog, handicrafts and Filipino food such as lumpia, pancit, turon, biko, maruya and empanada. Philippine tourism posters were displayed and brochures were distributed to guests at the booth.  

The Philippine Embassy also participated in the photo exhibit where the country’s culture and tourist destinations were depicted.

Naucalpan, officially Naucalpan de Juárez, is a city and municipality located just northwest of Mexico City in adjoining State of Mexico. The name Naucalpan comes from the Aztec language of Nahuatl and means “place of the four neighborhoods or four houses.” END
