30 March 2017 VANCOUVER – The 2017 Vancouver Fashion Week opened with two Manila-based fashion houses, Karimadon and Gabbie Sarenas, representing the Philippines. Karimadon presented its designs on March 21 while Ms. Gabbie Sarenas showcased her designs from her eponymous line of clothing on March 23.

Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer met Mr. Richard and Josie Go, owners of Karimadon, and its head designer, Ms. Embi Nicolas during the event. He also met Mr. Jamal Abdourahman, founder and prime mover of Vancouver Fashion Week. 

Vancouver Fashion Week, founded in 2001, is considered one of the fastest growing fashion events and the only one in the fashion industry that actively seeks to showcase international award-winning designers from over 25 global fashion capitals.

For the 2017 Fall/Winter edition, the line-up includes local designers as well as international brands from France, Spain, Brazil, Australia, Japan, Philippines, China, the United States, Germany, and Luxembourg. END
