Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis expressed the hope that more Australian investors would avail of opportunities in the Philippines. She noted that the country’s economic growth is underpinned by a young, skilled population. She also stressed the strong support of the Philippine government for the growth of various industries in the Philippines.
Tourism Attache Norjamin delos Reyes presented the tourism infrastructure projects being undertaken under the investment agencies, PEZA, BCDA, BOI and TIEZA. Fiscal and non-fiscal incentives available to investors were also detailed in addition to large-scale infrastructure projects. It was also noted that investments can be made in tourism-related services such as transportation, e.g. ferries and inland transportation are essential. She also encouraged tour operators based in New South Wales (NSW) to feature and promote Philippine tour packages.
