Filipino Veterans Foundation Holds Press Con on 75th Anniversary of Bataan Death March

03 April 2017 LOS ANGELES — Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz joined a press conference on 75th Anniversary of the Bataan Death March hosted by the Filipino Veterans Foundation at the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall in Los Angeles on March 28.

During the press conference, Consul General Cruz invited Filipino-American WW II veterans to the opening of a month-long exhibit of World War II Memorabilia, curated by the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society (PSHS) at the Consulate General, which starts April 03.

He commended the signing of the Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2015, which awarded 260,000 Filipino and Filipino-American World War II veterans a collective Congressional Gold Medal.

The Consul General earlier highlighted the 75th Anniversary of the Bataan Death March on the TV show, “Kabayan Today.”

PSHS Executive Director Dr. Jenny Batongmalaque informed members of the press and Filipino-American veterans on the launch of an exhibit of WWII artifacts from the Bataan Death March at the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall on April 07 and a presentation of Filipino-American WW II Veterans to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on April 11.
