Philippine Booth Wins Award in Hong Kong Flower Show

04 April 2017 HONG KONG — The Philippine booth, in its maiden participation, won a Special Award for Design Excellence at the Hong Kong Flower Show held at the Victoria Park from March 10 to 19. The booth featured the Philippines’ own Flower Festival, Panagbenga of Baguio City, with its main draw, a jeepney replica adorned with Everlasting flowers from Baguio City, resembling the floral floats which are paraded during the festival.

Philippine participation was made possible through the combined efforts of Consulate General personnel and volunteers from the Filipino Community in Hong Kong with the support of I-Remit, PLDT-SMART, and Cathay Pacific.

The Hong Kong Flower Show, which began in 2000, is an annual event organized by the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department and is estimated to attract around 500,000 visitors. The theme for this year was “Blossoms of Love” with the Rose as the theme flower. END
