PH Turns Over Chairmanship of ASEAN Committee in The Hague

On March 30, 2017, Ambassador Ledda (2nd from left) officially turned over Chairship of ASEAN Committee in The Hague (ACTH) to Malaysian Ambassador Ahmad Nazri Yusof (3rd from left) with the symbolic “ASEAN gavel” and five flags of ASEAN resident missions with accreditation in The Hague:  Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Witnesses to the ceremony were Ambassador Pornprapai Ganjanarintr of Thailand (leftmost), Ambassador Ngo Thi Hoa of Vietnam(2nd from right), and  Ambassador I.Gusting Wesaka Puja of Indonesia (rightmost). During its meeting on 30 March, Ambassador Ledda discussed the various activities by ACTH on the occasion of ASEAN’s 50 years anniversary and 40 years of the ASEAN-EU relations. These include a sportsfest in May; a business forum in August; an ASEAN Food Zone in September and an ASEAN Film Festival in November. Part of the Philippines’ efforts led by Ambassador Ledda as ACTH chair to increase awareness about ASEAN and ACTH among stakeholders was a call on the senior officials of the Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) in Amsterdam last March 28.
