11 April 2017 MEXICO — The Philippine Embassy in Mexico, led by Ambassador Eduardo Jose A. de Vega, took part in the celebration of Westhill Day 2017 hosted by the Westhill Institute on April 01 at its campus in Santa Fe, Mexico City.

The celebration, with its theme “Understanding Our Heritage” aims to promote intercultural understanding and respect among the students, faculty members, parents and the whole community of Westhill Institute.

Ambassador de Vega was one of the honored guests at the inauguration ceremony. Filipino students Nicole and Denise Lladones acted as the flag bearers for the Philippines during the parade.

The rich and diverse cultures of the countries represented from the school population was showcased through a cultural presentation of dances and music as well as with individual country stands featuring a sampling of food and a display of artworks done by students depicting a specific country’s culture, with the assistance of the different foreign embassies in Mexico.

Founded in 1992, Westhill Institute is one of the leading international schools in Mexico. It caters to around 900 students from more than 40 countries and from all academic levels.
