 PH Ambassador to South Africa Opens 11th Indian Ocean Ports and Logistics 2017 Exhibition and Conference

19 April 2017 MADAGASCAR — Philippine Ambassador to South Africa Joseph Gerard B. Angeles and Madagascar Minister of Public Security Jean-Jacques Adrianisa opened the 11th Indian Ocean Ports and Logistics 2017 Exhibition and Conference at the Hotel Carlton in Antananarivo on March 21.

The exhibition and conference gathered major players in ports and logistics aroundthe world. 

During the conference, port investment and expansion opportunities were discussed.  Developers and government planner also talked about current developments and future plans of deep water expansion.

Opportunities, challenges, and trade outlook were identified in relation to the economic transformation of countries sharing the Indian Ocean.

Among the major companies in the Indian Ocean ports and logistics industry is the Madagascar International Container Terminal Services Limited (MICTSL), an affiliate of the Filipino firm International Container and Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) with its headquarters in Manila. MICTSL handles about 95% of Madagascar’s container traffic, and is a recognized active partner in the economic and social development of that country. END
