President Duterte Invites Bahrain Business Community to Invest in the Philippines

20 April 2017 MANAMA — As part of his State Visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain from April 12 to 14, Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte met with top CEOs and business leaders of Bahrain at a Business Forum organized by the Philippine Embassy, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Capital Club Bahrain at the Capital Club, East Tower of the Bahrain Financial Harbour on April 14.
The President was accompanied by his Cabinet members, Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver, and members of the Philippine business delegation.
Secretary of Trade Ramon Lopez, who discussed the economic achievements of the Philippines in recent years and the Duterte administration’s continuing efforts to improve the business climate in the country. A representative of the Bahrain Economic Development Board also discussed investment opportunities in Bahrain.
President Duterte informed the Bahrain business community that the Philippines is continuing to undertake economic and financial reforms in order to attract more business and investments. He said that he will fulfill his promise to stop corruption and will continue his fight against drugs in order that businesses may thrive in a safe and corruption-free environment. END
