Filipina Captures ASEAN Table Tennis Crown in Cairo

04 April 2017 CAIRO – Filipina Sara Resnie bested eight other players from ASEAN embassies in Cairo to win the women’s singles title in the ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC) Table Tennis Tournament 2017, held at the city’s International Bowling Center.

Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Leslie J. Baja competed in the Heads of Mission category with the eight other ASEAN ambassadors in Cairo, while the Embassy’s Inocencio Ramirez, Jr. participated in the men’s singles draw.

The ACC is a grouping of the nine members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with embassies in Cairo. The group meets regularly and holds activities aimed at fostering camaraderie and increasing awareness about ASEAN in Egypt. END
