Russian Expert on Women’s Health Delivers Lecture

for the Filipino Community

04 April 2017 MOSCOW – In celebration of the International Women’s Month 2017, the Embassy of the Philippines in Moscow organized a lecture on women’s health issues titled “Problemang Pangkalusugan ng Mga Kababaihan: Mga Dapat Malaman” held at the Philippine Embassy on March 26.

The lecture was given by Dr. Nina E. Rusanova, Associate Professor and Lead Researcher of the Laboratory of Gender Studies of the Institute of Social and Economic Studies of Population of the Russian Academy of Sciences. 

Dr. Rusanova shared with the Filipino Community practical advice on women’s health and the Russian practice in addressing women’s health issues. She emphasized the importance of reproductive health and the health implications of motherhood.

Dr. Rusanova also highlighted the need to addressing what she referred to as “glossy magazine complex” that leads women to risk their health in pursuit of cosmetic goals.

She concluded her presentation with insights on affordable hospitals and clinics in Moscow, medical insurance as well as health and wellness programs offered by private medical centers and public hospitals. 

The event was attended by around 50 female members of the Filipino Community in Moscow. END
