PHL Consulate General in New York Welcomes Global Studies Students

04 April 2017 NEW YORK – Consul General Theresa Dizon-de Vega, with Philippine Center Events Coordinator Victor Cruz, welcomed a delegation of faculty and students of Tallwood Academy in Virginia to the Philippine Center in New York on March 30.
The high school students are enrolled in the Global Studies and World Languages Academy and visited the Center to receive a briefing on the work undertaken by foreign Embassies and Consulates in the United States. The group was accompanied by faculty member Jessica Windish, Global Studies Instructional Leaders.
The delegation was also given a tour on the Center premises and was given copies of its bi-annual newsletter “Kaakbay” to inform them of the various initiatives and projects of the Consulate General.
The session with the Tallwood students is part of the Consulate General’s outreach efforts to young Americans to better inform them about the Philippines and Philippines-US relations.
Tallwood School has sister school arrangements with Olongapo City National High School and Olongapo Regional Science High School. END
