PHL Ambassador to China Highlights Role of Women in Society
Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago Sta. Romana addresses the audience in his opening remarks.
21 April 2017 — Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago Sta. Romana underscored the power of women in today’s society during the Philippine Embassy in China’s recent lecture series to heighten its personnel’s gender sensitivity, hone their skills in assisting overseas Filipinos, and to train them in providing psychological first aid.
The activity was in line with the Embassy’s celebration of National Women’s Month. During the activity, Ambassador Sta. Romana paid tribute to stanch women’s rights advocate, the late Ambassador and Senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani. He also cited other female Filipino diplomats who have excelled in their professional careers.
This activity is one of several gender-related projects of the Embassy supporting the Philippine government’s commitment to empower women in nation building. END
