PHL Charge d’ Affaires Joins Asian Heads of Missions in a Meeting with Czech Central Bank Governor Rusnok to Discuss Czech Economy

03 May 2017 PRAGUE— Philippine Chargé d’ affaires, a.i. Juan E. Dayang Jr. joined the Asian Ambassador’s Group in a working lunch meeting with Central Bank Governor Jiří Rusnok on April 19 hosted by Korean Ambassador Moon Seoung-Hyun at his residence in Prague.

Central Bank Governor Rusnok met with the Heads of Missions of ASEAN (including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam), China, Japan, Republic of Korea (host), Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, and Mongolia to exchange views on monetary policy of the Czech Republic and the economic situation in the Czech Republic.

According to Governor Rusnok, the exchange rate market has stabilized relatively recently and predicted that the expected growth rate of Czech economy will be around 2.8 % to three percent higher than 2016 growth figures of 2.3%.  The lifting of Central Bank intervention of the Czech crowns is expected to strengthen the Czech currency against the Euros.
