04 May 2017 TURKEY — The Philippine Embassy in Ankara conducts a consular mission in Istanbul, Turkey on April 30 2017 in the Lazonni Hotel in the Beyoglu District attending to over 170 requests for consular services.
A total of 43 nationals registered for the Embassy's certificates of registration; 29 for overseas voting registration (22 registration, 6 transfers, one reactivation); and seven for the release of their IDs. The Embassy also attended to over 15 inquiries relating to their employment contracts in view of the recent announcement of DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello to suspend the issuance of overseas employment certificates.
The Embassy also met with Filipino community leaders in Turkey to share updates in its initial talks with the Ministry of Labor and Social Services (CSGB) of Turkey, as well as initial preparations for the National Day celebrations.
