PHL Embassy and Philippine Ladies Circle Celebrate National Heritage Month in Abu Dhabi

07 May 2017 ABU DHABI — The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Ladies Circle - Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with Hot Palayok Restaurant & Grill, celebrated the National Heritage Month with the theme, “Malasakit para sa Pamana” (Care for Heritage) on May 03 at the Hot Palayok Restaurant & Grill, Abu Dhabi.
Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. said, “National heritage refers to our architectural heritage, our museums, even our heirlooms and the things that we acquire that convey our culture and what we are as a people and as a country. It is also being manifested in the way we dress and in our cuisine. And what better way to celebrate, than it in a place like Hot Palayok.”
Ambassador Vingno conveyed his appreciation to Mr. Thejmal Sultan, Operations Manager of Hot Palayok, and Ms. Michelle Gemaol, Manager, for supporting the Embassy and the Philippine Ladies Circle in celebrating the National Heritage Month.
Philippine Presidential Proclamation No. 439 (2003) declares the month of May every year as National Heritage Month. The celebration aims to promote awareness on Filipino culture and heritage, and to achieve the collective purpose of having all people appreciate, protect and cherish our cultural identity and treasures.
