Defense Secretary Speaks at the VI Moscow Conference on International Security
02 May 2017 MOSCOW – National Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenza participated for the first time in the annual Moscow Conference on International Security which took place on 26-27 April 2017.
Secretary Lorenzana outlined the Philippine perspective on the current security situation in the Asia Pacific (ASPAC) region.
The MCIS is an annual forum for dialogue on military and defense issues. This year’s edition attracted 21 defense ministers, including India, Israel, Iran, Brazil, Serbia, and Laos, and more than 200 Russian and foreign experts.

Secretary Lorenzana was one of the speakers in the plenary session on “Asia Pacific: Balance of interests or a military standoff”, along with Major General Shao Yuanming, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff Department under China’s Central Military Commission, Colonel-General Chansamone Chanyalath, Minister of Defense of Laos, and Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Senior Minister of State for Defence of Singapore, among other prominent personalities.
