PHL Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Holds “Trabaho At Negosyo” Forum for the Filipino Community

11 May 2017 BRUNEI — The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, in cooperation with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) based in Singapore, conducted a forum “Trabaho at Negosyo” last Saturday, May 06, at the Chancery.  The forum presented the Government’s reintegration programs for overseas Filipinos who wish to return to the Philippines, and also business opportunities for them. Around 120 Filipinos attended the event. 

The speakers were Mr. Glenn G. Peñaranda, PTIC-Singapore Commercial Counsellor, who discussed the Livelihood and Investment Opportunities in the Philippines, and Ms. Grace M. Sausa, Lank Bank of the Philippines Bank Executive Officer and Overseas Representative for Brunei, Indonesia and East Malaysia, who discussed Remittance and Financial Literacy.

An open forum followed the presentations with Labor Attaché Melissa Mendizabal, SSS Representative Mary Jesielyn Cabungcag-Sia and Pag-IBIG Representative Edna Peñahermoso, joining the speakers.

The attendees expressed appreciation to the Embassy and the speakers and requested a follow-up session on financial literacy and on starting a business in the Philippines.
