2nd Philippine Food Festival Serves Up Native Cuisine in Khartoum, Sudan
Filipino dishes served during the event’s opening night.
11 May 2017 KHARTOUM, SUDAN – Diners at the Al Nuba Restaurant of the Al Salam Rotana Hotel in Khartoum, Sudan were treated to an array of Filipino cuisine favorites during the hotel’s 2nd Philippine Food Festival from May 06 to 10.
The husband-and-wife team of Chefs Bong and Emma Sulaik flew in from the Philippines to prepare a full spread of traditional Filipino dishes for the event, from staples like adobo, pancit and halo-halo to regional favorites such as Bicol express, inasal na manok and beef sinina. To complete the Filipino culinary experience, the hotel also brought in Mr. Joseph Tupaz to serenade the diners with popular Filipino music during the festival run.
The festival was organized by the Al Salam Rotana Hotel Khartoum in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Cairo, Egypt and the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Sudan.
