Philippine, Singapore Navy Formalize Cooperation in Information Sharing

19 May 2017 SINGAPORE — On the sidelines of the 50th Anniversary of the Republic of Singapore Navy’s week-long celebrations, the Philippine Navy, led by Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph Mercado, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Republic of Singapore Navy, led by Rear Admiral Lai Chung Han on information sharing on White Shipping last May 14.
The MOU formalizes the existing cooperative mechanisms between the two Navies. Prior to the signing, both Admiral Mercado and Lai, emphasized the strong bonds of cooperation and friendship between the two navies, and stressed that the MOU will allow for greater coordination in sharing information between the two sides.
